KampungKakis

KampungKakis is a neighbourhood buddy system platform that matches residents who need help and those who are willing to help a neighbour based on proximity and needs. Recognising the importance of limiting social contact during the COVID-19 crisis, the founders of KampungKakis, Mae Tan, Denise Tay, and Michelle Lau, came up with the idea KampungKakis to limit the exposure of vulnerable residents to many different volunteers. KampungKakis reimagines what the Kampung Spirit and interactions look like in Singapore today. With the simple basis of treating one another like a friend, budding relationships are formed. This could look like calling up a Kaki regularly to check on how they are doing, or reaching out to individuals and families who require financial or resource guidance during challenging times.
