No one ever gets through life without detours.
Acrylic on Canvas

This is an abstract painting about a journey that is unpredictable. I was inspired by the hardships and setbacks that I’ve found and how I managed to overcome them. We have our own idiosyncrasies in life. Life is a journey that is so unpredictable and unforeseen. We face many hardships, setbacks and temptations. Through it all, there will always be detours that are inevitable, which define who we are. No one gets through life without detours. It's about the process and the struggles are real. It isn't just about our end goal, it is about trusting the process.

I have wasted a lot of time in prison and I do not get to cherish the time with my family, especially my parents. I want to be there for my family and my loved ones.

The Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP) is a national public engagement campaign aimed at changing society’s mindset in giving ex-offenders a second chance in life. The community initiative aims to create awareness of the need to give second chances to ex-offenders, generate acceptance of ex-offenders and their families in the community, and inspire community action to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders into society.
