Andrew Lau Ka Keat

Despite being diagnosed with ADHD.

Andrew started showing an interest in drawing since a very young age. He started by sketching anything that piqued his interest from characters on TV, VCDs to objects that caught his eye on magazine and books.

Despite being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) with autistic features since he was 4, Andrew attended a normal primary school during his childhood. His parents also sent him for speech and language intervention classes to overcome his limited language and social skills.

Though Andrew displayed a natural talent and strong interest in drawing since young, he only started formal drawing lesson when he was 13 years old. Since then, he has gone on to experiment with different mediums of drawing including ink and watercolour. He was then introduced to the world of acrylic painting in the year 2011.

In 2013, Andrew won the Merit Award at the Asia/Para Art Exhibition in Tokyo, Japan. He has gone on to exhibit his work in different arenas including the International Art Expo Malaysia. His painting was also voted as the most favourite art piece at the Temple of Fine Arts in 2012.
